This gives a *signal* to the plant to produce more. So I had about 300+ green tomatoes. I could let them ripen, but then I am in a time crunch to do something with all of them. With the green ones, I can pickle them at my leisure.<BR/><BR/>Now, I will have another 300 tomatoes that I'll let ripen, and can.
